The latest project! Bags!
I'm learning how to make bags using my observations and internet research. They seem to be really easy, but there is some definite learning curve to the techniques. Here are the first two I made.
Here is my first experiment. It turned out really nicely. I used a fuseable interfacing. Love it.
I used a sewed in snap. Super do not like how it looks, but it was too late to do a set in closure.
I used a squared bottom. Very easy and makes for a really nice shape.
Side view. The squared bottom goes up the sides.
Bag endeavor number 2. Messenger bag.
Nice color and cute fabric. Major issues though.
First I used several types of interfacing. A fuseable interfacing in the lining. Wrong type of lining. It wouldn't fuse.
A fleece facing on the exterior. Too fluffy.
The stiffness was good. But it was just a mess.
I did some pockets that worked out ok.
The strap was waaay too weenie. Super uncomfortable.
And it was just too big of a bag. All in all a good experiment, but a project fail. I took it apart when I got back home.
