Army surplus hobo bag

Used the army surplus supplies to make a hobo bag. Kind of my favorite style of bag right now.
The pockets are appropriated from a utility belt.

 Love the closures on these.

Shoulder strap from a duffel bag.

Nice lining to brighten up the interior and a full zip closure.

Army surplus wrap skirt

I love using materials from the army surplus store. You can get these awesome utility belts with all sorts of pockets, clasps and what nots and then take it apart to use in tons of other items.

This wrap skirt is made from a canvas shelter tarp thing.

The edges are zigzagged instead of turned as I wanted it to fray a bit.

I cut it in a angle and added the clip mid thigh to add some strength and interest.  The clip is from a duffle bag.
The back ends up a simple a-line skirt.

It had snaps all along one side and the waist band is wide enough to fold down when I want to. Such an easy project and my favorite kind of clothing to wear.

Bustle skirt

I've been getting pulled towards garments again and in particular bustle skirts and wrap arounds. I don't have all the materials necessary but I find with certain fabrics I can sew bits together and make something cool.

Thus the two toned bustle skirt. I used sweatshirt fabric and t-shirt strips to make the "ruffles".

The bustle effect. And please ignore the open closet behind me.

 The front is pretty straightforward.

 Assymetrical

I used fold over elastic for the waistband, which I love.

 Very comfy and easy.
